What is our approach during this time of disruption?

Written by Emma Serlin | 18-Mar-2020

There is no doubting this is one of the oddest and in many ways most alarming times most of us have experienced. But as a resolutely positive person, I am fully committed to finding the positives and sharing them. This is not to say it is about minimising the issues - there are huge and very real concerns. But more that alongside the challenges, there are opportunities, unexpected joys and a global invitation to connect with our kindness and humanity.

It’s here, and it’s going to disrupt the world. But as Mark Carney says, it is disrupt, not destruct. So here’s our approach to managing the disruption:

  1. We see ourselves as a growth mindset company - which means working with challenges, failures, things going wrong as opportunities for growth. For us then, the opportunity is finding the hope and positivity within this challenging time, both for London Speech Workshop as a business, our team, our clients and the world at large.

  2. We have a mantra here - if life gives you a lemon, make lemonade. So here's our lemonade...

“We want to offer a positive view, to minimise the disruption and provide opportunities for growth and development”
The LSW Team

We see this period as a time for people to find stillness, purpose and connection with friends and family. A chance to re-evaluate what's important and potentially use it as a time for growth - for both personal and career development.

Our goal is to support our clients and community to find benefits from this time where we are housebound, and to be armed with tools that help make it easier and brighter. If you want to use this time to work on yourself, then communication is a wonderful place to start.

OUR ONLINE COACHING

All of our courses are available online.  We work hard to ensure that our online coaching sessions are as impactful and engaging as our face-to-face ones. We will set you up with Zoom, send you our beautiful manuals in PDF format and your coach will work with you just as they normally would - creating a tailored programme to suit your needs and then teaching you in person.

And here are some perks of going online:

  1. You don't have to move! Save time on coming to our office, avoid public transport, just get a cup of tea and a quiet space, good wifi and a notebook - and you are pretty much good to go.

  2. We will record the session and send it to you, so you can watch the session as many times as you like, and see your progress at any time.

So why not try our online taster session today? And see if this will be your lemonade.

Over the next few weeks, you'll see posts and articles from us looking at the situation from a positive growth mindset, sharing tips to help with the inevitable bumps in the road and to squeeze the lemonade out of the situation. So now is a great time to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

There’s so much scope to be of service in this time - and we want to share the information you need and want - so if there’s anything you’d like to hear from us about, please do let us know.

Warmest wishes,

Emma
